I have the TV film as German dubbed version and Dutch version (original English soundtrack with Dutch subtitles). The German title is "Glühender Himmel". List of cast and crew is taken from Dutch film version. It is free adaptation of the novels "The Burning Shore" (German title is "Glühender Himmel") and "Power of the Sword" (German title is "Wer aber Gewalt Sät") by Wilbur Smith
First World War. A beautiful young French aristocrat, Centaine De Thiry (Isabelle Gelinas) gets acquainted with the British aviator Michael Courtney (Jason Connery). They fall in love with each other, but their happiness is short-lived. In one flight the aviator perishes. Centaine decides to leave for Africa, as her lost husband dreamed, and the child she carries will be born in Africa. She along with her aunt Anna go to Africa.
Rich landowners from France, Holland and Germany live in Africa. But after the war their grounds are taken by the Englishmen. Derek de Lint stars a very rich landowner, Lothar De La Rey, who had huge grounds in Africa before WWI. But the Englishmen have taken away his grounds and have killed his wife and small son. He hates them and has become the leader of a band of robbers who take revenge on the Englishmen.
When Lothar learns that an English ship will land on a shore of Africa, he asks his friend, a U-Boat commander (Ralph Schicha), to destroy the ship. A U-Boat torpedoes the ship. Centaine is cast on the forbidding shore of the Namibian Desert. Her aunt Anna was rescued on the life boat and knows nothing about Centaine.
Centaine wanders the shore together with two aboriginals, Hani and Owi, for a long time. In a cave her child is born. During a hunt for elephants Lothar sees the young woman with the two aboriginals and he falls in love with her. He learns that the woman is searched for by influential relatives. He has informed lady Anna that he can find Centaine, if he and his robbers can obtain mercy by the governor of city (Anna is married to him). The husband of lady Anna has agreed to it.
Lothar finds Centaine and rescues her from a lion attack. Between them is a mad passion. But Centaine's friends, the aboriginals, enter the camp of the robbers. Lothar kills them, and Centaine by seeing it, begins to hate him.
Centaine leaves Lothar and comes back to lady Anna. Then she learns that the stones which she has found in a cave together with the aboriginals are diamonds. She goes to Lothar and demands that he take her to the place where he rescued her from the attack of the lion. In the beginning he refuses. But Centaine offers him an exchange: if he will take her to that place, he can have his child. She is going to have his baby.
Twenty years later Manfred De La Rey (Lorenzo Flanerty) and Shasa Courtney (Andrea Prodan) - the sons of Centaine De Thiry - have grown up, not knowing that they are brothers. Centaine has become one of the richest women in the world. She has bought a fish factory which belonged to Lothar. He has lost everything.
Lothar decides to plunder the diamond mine belonging to Centaine. Lothar and his robbers stop her car and take the diamonds. Centaine returns to the city and organizes a pursuit of the thieves. The friends of Lothar have betrayed him and have stolen his horses. He has also received a wound, when plundered by Centaine, and it begins to fester. The soldiers have overtaken Lothar, his friend Ganrick and Manfred at an unusually beautiful waterfall...
