Hello everyone - Just a quick note to sign off before leaving for Cannes and to thank you all for your guidance and good wishes. For those of you who don't know, this past year we produced a short film entitled, "The Artist's Circle" which has been invited to Cannes!!! As one of 18,000 entrants competing for a handful of positions - we ended up being one of only TWO (2) project from Canada that were accepted at all!!! What a tremendous honour. Further, as though one weren't good enought, the feature we just completed principal photography on - "Salvador's Deli" has already been scooped and will also be in Cannes, with Westar Entertainment as its foreign distributor!!! As we have never been to such an event before, so many of our friends have taken the time to give us the insider reports on where to go, how to get into the parties, places to stay, eat, drink, what to wear to a screening... it has been invaluable. And I am begging that you please DON'T STOP! We will be in regular contact via email - however will be on my hotmail account michelleczernin@hotmail.com . - so if you know of any parties.... We leave tonight on the 8:00pm flight and will be returning on May 24. While in Cannes we are staying, by the grace of a wonderful director, Charles McDougall, at a little hotel off the beaten track (and very cost effective) called the Hotel Atlas - at present I only have the fax number (00-33-49-33-92-957) and the room will either be registered still under Charles' name, my name or Steven's (Mansueto is his last name). We may go to Monaco for the Grand Prix once the festival is over - though that would only be for a couple of days. Once again, thank you everyone for all your support - "The Artist's Circle" (starring Michael Shanks"Stargate SG-1", Derek de Lint ("Poltergeist: The Legacy", "Unbearable Lightness of Being"), Don S. Davis ("Stargate SG- 1"), Mackenzie Gray "The Net") starts screening next week with the "International Critics Week" and our feature "Salvador's Deli" (introducing Steven Mansueto also with Vince Murdocco "Kick Boxer", Robert Z'Dar "Tango & Cash" and Vince Fera "Bogus" and directed by Trevor Mirosh - our other partner), is being distributed by Westar Entertainment and can be seen in the Noga Hilton, Room 106 (our rep is Bill Baughan). If there are any changes we will email you - in the mean time - have a wonderful couple of weeks - and think of us frolicking on the beaches - making great contacts and who knows, bringing home some serious business!
